Introduction
Internal Audit and Consulting Services of the Province of Manitoba provides internal auditing services to management throughout government and is seeking talented and motivated people to join our team. Conditions of Employment:
  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
  • Must have a satisfactory Criminal Record Check
  • Must possess a valid Class 5 Driver's Licence and have the ability to travel occasionally within the Province
Qualifications:

Essential:
  • Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation. Suitable combinations of related experience, education and training may be considered
  • Diverse audit experience including performing comprehensive financial and/or operational audits
  • Experience applying professional auditing standards and knowledge of accounting principles and practices
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to independently manage multiple priorities within timelines and scope
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to develop working relationships within a team and with a variety of stakeholders
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to lead others on projects
  • Strong written communication skills including experience preparing working papers and reports
  • Excellent verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate complex information clearly and concisely
  • Experience and proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook) and accounting software

Desired:
  • Audit experience in a public sector environment
  • Related professional designation, specifically: Certified internal Auditor (CIA) or Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) or Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA)
Duties:
The Internal Auditor is an intermediate auditor position. The Internal Auditor will work independently or as part of an audit team and is responsible to plan, conduct and report upon a variety of audit assignments. These typically focus on operational reviews addressing financial management practices; various other audits include comprehensive, compliance, and informational technology.
