Rack Loader position involves the safe and accurate loading / unloading of solvents and light ends products into/from rail cars.  More specifically, light ends products (propane / propylene, hexene) and benzene containing feed are unloaded, while nonene, xylene, toluene and benzene are loaded.  This job primarily takes place outdoors and in the elements. Individuals are required to crawl under and over rail cars for inspections and to open and close compartments, install filling nozzles and fill compartments, use hand tools, operate a shuttle wagon and have sufficient computer skills to "goods issue" products filled to customer locations.

 

Qualifications

Academic:

  • College diploma in Chemical Production Engineering Technology (CPET) or equivalent combination of formal education and directly relevant industry experience in the judgement of management.
  • High School diploma or equivalent is a minimum requirement

 

Other:

  • 4th Class Operating Engineer certificate
  • Valid Class G driver¹s license and satisfactory driving record in the judgement of management
  • Able to meet the essential physical demands of the position with reasonable accommodation (e.g. 12 hour day and night shift work, climbing stairs, some lifting, etc.)
  • Sound reasoning ability, high level of self-initiative, ability to work in team environment
  • Comfortable working in an industrial environment where work at heights and in confined spaces will be occasionally required.
  • This position is designated as Safety Sensitive under the company’s Alcohol & Drug policy and will require successful pre-employment certification process.
