Reporting to the Program Manager, part-time and full-time instructors are required by the Language Training Centre to teach English for Specific Purposes (ESP) courses with a health care focus. These include courses for internationally-educated health care professionals as well as for English as an Additional Language (EAP) students with no previous experience in health care. These courses serve as pathways to Red River College Polytechnic programs, further training or credential recognition. Instructor duties and responsibilities include planning, developing, modifying and continually improving instruction to meet the unique needs of adult learners. This includes and is not limited to instructing and facilitating by actively engaging students, assessing achievement of learning outcomes, integrating technology to support learning, teaching and communication, supporting student success through coaching and advising, maintaining professional growth and engaging with the community and industry sector as a representative of RRC Polytech, as required.  There may be full and part-time positions available--please indicate your preference in your application.



- Post secondary education in a related field, for example: humanities and social science; science, health sciences or other health care related fields; an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered

- Certificate in Teaching English as a Second Language (ESL/EAL) from a TESL Canada recognized institution (Minimum 120 hours of classroom instruction and a 20 hour practicum)

- Knowledge of lesson planning

- Knowledge of effective ESL teaching practices

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills

- Strong presentation skills

- Excellent interpersonal skills involving intercultural understanding

- Demonstrated leadership skills

- Able to delivery classes both remotely and on campus in Winnipeg

- Commitment to lifelong learning



- Knowledge of CLB, PBLA, and CELBAN

- Experience preparing learners at CLB 7-8 for post-secondary study and/or Canadian workplaces

- Experience in a Canadian health care workplace (e.g. hospital or clinic) or in a health care-related training environment (e.g. language program for internationally educated health professionals

- Experience using a Learning Management System (LMS) to deliver blended (synchronous and asynchronous) instruction



- Applicants must be legally entitled to work in Canada

- This position may be required to work evenings and/or weekends

- This position may be required to work throughout the academic year including the summer months
