Tundra is on the hunt for a Leasing Administrator in our Winnipeg, Manitoba office.  Applicants from other jurisdictions will be considered for remote work based from our Calgary office. 

As a Leasing Administrator, you will work closely with the Leasing Coordinator as part of a Winnipeg based team responsible for the acquisition of mineral land rights from landowners in support of Tundra’s drilling and asset management plans.  Reporting to the Manager, Land Administration, some specific duties and responsibilities of the Leasing Administrator include, but are not limited to:

·       Working with the Leasing Coordinator, you will:

o   Complete title review and any related title curity, including estates

o   Draft, prepare, and interpret freehold leases

o   Submit caveat and discharge documents to land titles offices

o   Track correspondence with Mineral owners and respond to leasing queries

o   Upkeep of leasing workflow spreadsheets

o   Verifying of all returned legal documents from Mineral Owners have been completed accurately

o   Regularly report on progress and escalate challenges to the appropriate contact as required

o   Assist with negotiating and acquiring simple mineral leases in support of Tundra’s asset plans when needed

o   Partner with Area Landmen to collect information on bonus, royalty rates and other negotiated items in support of simple mineral lease acquisition

·       Meet deadlines and balance multiple priorities in an environment with shifting timeframes


Candidates for this position will possess the following qualifications and competencies:

·       3+ years in a land role for Land Broker or exploration and production company is required

·       Equivalent experience in a real property paralegal capacity will be considered

·       Working knowledge of exploration and production asset life cycle, including operational activities involved in active asset development

·       Strong understanding of Manitoba and Saskatchewan land titles systems

·       Strong written and oral communications skills

·       Ability to work independently within a distributed team

·       Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including advanced excel, Accumap, oil and gas lease administration systems, and electronic workflows
