Part-Time, Term Position Available

Duties: Reporting to the Chair of Teacher Education, the Instructor will prepare technical vocational teacher candidates to meet Manitoba Education certification requirements. Primary duties of this position will include supervision of student teaching practicum experiences in Technical Vocational Secondary Schools; the planning, maintaining and delivery of education courses (instructional methodology, assessment, curriculum development and other content related courses) within the Technical Vocational diploma program using in-person, blended and remote formats. Additional responsibilities may include, advising students and performing related teaching and administrative duties. Candidates may be required to teach courses within other Teacher Education programs. The successful candidate for this position must be willing to participate in external professional organizations. Candidates need to specify their areas of expertise in their cover letter.


- Bachelor of Education degree

- Valid Manitoba Teaching Certificate

- Several years of public school teaching experience in a Technical Vocational or Industrial Arts program OR principal/vice-principal administration experience in a Technical Vocational Secondary School

- Experience mentoring and evaluating student teacher candidates in a Bachelor of Education program

- Ability to implement current methodology to instruct lessons in-person, online and in a blended format

- Experience with educational technologies

- Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office, including MS Teams, Zoom, Webex

- Excellent written communication skills

- Strong verbal communication skills

- Strong presentation skills

- Excellent interpersonal skills

- Demonstrated leadership skills

- Ability to work remotely

- Master's degree in Education

- Administrative or teaching experience within a grade 9-12 Technical Vocational Secondary School

- Experience facilitating professional development courses and/or workshops

- Experience teaching professional education courses


- Applicants must be legally entitled to work in Canada

- This position may be required to work evenings and/or weekends

- Incumbent must provide a current and satisfactory Criminal Records Check, including a Vulnerable Persons Sector Check

- Incumbent must provide a current and satisfactory Child Abuse Registry Check

- This position may be required to travel
