Position Summary:

Under the direction and control of the Program Supervisor and Executive Director, the Custodian is responsbile for providing janitorial and custodial services to NACM, which includes, but is not limited to providing daily cleaning services and ensuring the cleaniness of NACM at all times.

Key Responsibilties:

  • Ensure janitorial and custodial duties are completed as directed and within the required timeframes; cleaniness requirments and completed as assigned ona daily basis
  • Provide necessary support and on-going assessments to monitor the cleaniness and operability of the facility 
  • Ensure cleaning supplies and materials are available as needed and/or required
  • Assist in accessing community resources or material/supplies for NACM as directed/required.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in jantorial/custodial services
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience with fire codes, boiler sysytems, electricity, plumbing, mechancial, painting and plastering.
  • Good communication skills both verbal and written are necessary
  • Knowledge of Indigenous Culture and ability to speak a Native language is preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to workalone with minimal supervision and as part of a team 
  • Minimu 2 years abstinence from alcohol and/or drug use
  • Minimum  Grade 12 or GED equivalent is required
  • Valid Driver's License, and a Driver's Abstract is required; and Class 4 or 5 Driver's License is an asset.
  • Training in CPR and First Aid techniques and asset
