Duties: We are looking for a dynamic and engaging individual to join the Math, Sciences and Communication division as an instructor in the  communication department teaching into a variety of certificate, diploma and degree programs. Communication is taught as a core skill for academic and career success, and focuses on strategies for, and practice in, reading comprehension, effective speaking, active listening, and writing for specific purposes. Reporting to the department Chair, the successful candidate will fulfill the duties of an instructor as outlined in RRC's Collective Bargaining Agreement, and may be assigned to the Notre Dame and/or the Exchange District campuses.
 
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in a related subject (for example, professional or applied communication; education); other combinations of education and experience may be considered
- Experience teaching international students and/or speakers of English as an additional language. TESOL,TESL Certification preferred
- Commitment to student success through active and facilitative approaches to teaching in an online Environment
- Experience creating a positive online learning environment with diverse learners
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively to create or refine teaching materials in: Brightspace Desire to Learn (Learn, D2L) WebEx and MS Teams video conferencing and Media Desktop Recording Software.)
- Demonstrated skills with MS Office Suite Applications
- Strong written  communication skills
- Excellent verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated leadership skills
- Ability to work remotely

ASSET QUALIFICATIONS
- Certificate in Adult Education or currently enrolled in the program 
- Previous experience working in a post-secondary educational institution
 
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
- Applicants must be legally entitled to work in Canada
- This position may be required to work evenings and/or weekends
- Incumbent must provide a current and satisfactory Criminal Records Check
