The Southern Chiefs’ Organization (SCO) requires a Health Transformation Project Coordinator for an ongoing position based on annual funding.





  •   Bachelor degree in Social Sciences and Humanities, Indigenous Studies, or Health Studies

·        Proficiency in the use of computers (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook)

·        Project Management Designation an asset

  •   Masters degree an asset
  •   An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered




·        Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in project management

·        Minimum of five (5) years’ in staff management

·        Demonstrated successful leadership and program coordination experience

·        Writing of reports at both lay and technical levels

·        Working with multi-sectoral partnerships within and beyond the health services sector

·        Knowledge of health programs within First Nations communities and community partners

·        Experience in administrative and financial management

·        Leadership and team building experience

·        Knowledge and awareness of current First Nation health systems and traditional healing practices

·        Knowledge of change management processes an asset

·        Exceptional organizational problem solving skills

·        Excellent oral and written communication skills

·        Excellent networking skills

·        Excellent analytical and proposal writing skills

·        Ability to speak Dakota or Ojibway language an asset





  • Support the Director, Health Transformation in all implementation activities associated with the Health Transformation Initiative
  • Supervise policy and administrative staff including the development of individual workplans and performance agreements
  • Establish on-going working relationships with project partners, third party research organizations and participate on committees, working groups and initiatives
  • Support the development of health transformation community engagement discussion and ratification documents, workplan and funding proposals, negotiation packages and communication materials
  • Prepare and implement an Evaluation of the project initiative
