New Directions is a social service agency offering a wide range of resources and services that foster people’s hopes and dreams in their communities. We have approximately 950 employees who deliver programing through: Home Services, Resource Services, Therapy Services, and Culture, Education and Training Services. We are currently seeking a full time Business Associate, which is a newly created position, to join our Resource and Support Services team.


Reporting to and working with the Business Manager, the Business Associate will work on finding areas where administrative process improvements are required, assist in developing and implementing efficient administrative processes, collecting quantitative data, performing data analysis and preparing reports. They will provide clerical, administrative, billing and collections support; as well as deliver excellent customer service to clients.


The ideal candidate will have a positive attitude with business and financial acumen. They will possess strong organization, analytical, problem-solving, customer service and communication skills. They will be self-directed/motivated, team-oriented, and can collaborate with a variety of people in a fast-paced work environment.


Qualifications Include:

  • A diploma or degree in Business Administration with a major in Accounting, Administration or in a related area

  • 3 years’ experience working in an office environment providing administrative support; experience in a medical office is considered an asset

  • Advanced skills in MS Office products/apps (specifically Excel, Word and Access)

  • Demonstrated understanding of and ability to apply Accounting principles

  • Demonstrated experience and proficiency with administrative process improvement


The salary range is $18.09 to $24.29 per hour for a 35-hour work week (equivalent to $32,923 to $44,207 per annum), dependent upon education and/or experience. A full benefits package is also provided. The successful candidate will be subject to Criminal Record and Adult/Child Abuse Registry Checks. The successful candidate must also complete computer and administrative skills testing.
