DUTIES
Reporting to the Chair of the Mechanical Engineering Technology department, the Instructor is required to deliver theory and practical training to students in the Mechanical Engineering Technology program. The incumbent is expected to develop and modify curriculum, conduct student assessment, supervise student practical labs, maintain lab and classroom equipment, maintain accurate program records, effectively manage classroom activities and perform related duties as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering Technology or undergraduate degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
• Certified Engineering Technologist (C.E.T.) or Professional Engineer (P.Eng.). Applicants currently registered with the Provincial associations and in the process of certification may be considered
• Significant practical industry experience in mechanical engineering, manufacturing engineering, or industrial engineering
• Proficient in mathematics, physics and computer application software (Microsoft Office, CAD)
• Proficient in the operation of lab equipment for assigned courses of instruction
• Effective written and verbal communication skills
• Demonstrated leadership skills
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in group settings
• Effective presentation skills with ability to present material to diverse groups with the use of appropriate technology
• Effective interpersonal skills
• Experience building a respectful workplace culture that promotes diversity, learning
and continuous improvement
ASSETS
• Post-secondary instructional experience
• Certificate in Adult Education (CAE) or Technical Vocational Diploma
• Experience with Lean Manufacturing
• Experience in computer programming
• Experience in industrial automation or robotics
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
• Applicants must be legally entitled to work in Canada
• This position may be required to work evenings and/or weekends
• Instructors are required to complete the Teaching for Learning (TFL) in Applied Education program or have previously completed the Certificate in Adult Education (CAE)

Salary: $62,129 - $92,271 per annum
