We are seeking an individual for our SMS Coordinator & Mailroom Admin Representative position for an approximately 6 month term. This role is part time mailroom operator and part time data management for Corporate Facilities & Security Dept related to Safety Management System.  Under the general direction of the Mailing Services Supervisor, is responsible for all aspects of courier services incoming/outgoing, preparation and delivery of all packages. This position is responsible for monitoring the loading bays and dock to ensure safe operation of all motorists in these areas. Will be responsible to perform clerical functions related to the day-to-day operation of the Mail Services Section at 360 Portage.

Responsibilities:

  • Ship and receive all parcels delivered to the loading dock, including furniture, office equipment and stationery supplies entering or leaving 360 Portage Avenue.
  • Use the Arrival Computer System to scan parcels received from couriers.
  • Maintain electronic databases of shipments of goods by couriers, air transportation, bus and transfer.
  • Sort and process incoming and outgoing mail and stationery.
  • Process mail from Manitoba Hydro offices throughout the province for each Manitoba Hydro location.
  • Process circulars for various departments.
  • Assist in preparation of envelopes; manually collating literature for Hydro-X and various groups within Hydro.
  • Operate postage equipment as required.
  • Assist in the coordination, scheduling and documentation requirements for Corporate Facilities & Security Dept related to Safety Management System.

Qualifications:

  • Grade 12 education plus two years related experience in the operation of mailing equipment.
  • Must have a working knowledge of Canada Post rules and regulations.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate manual and electric pallet trucks.
  • Good working knowledge of PC's including Windows, Word, Excel, Canada Post's Shipping Tools, the Pitney Bowes Arrival Parcel System and additional courier shipping systems.
  • Ability to understand and carry out both written and oral instructions.
  • Must be physically capable of performing all the duties of the position.

Salary Range

Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. The range for the classification is $20.32-$28.36 Hourly, $38,946.44-$54,335.06 Annually.
