Minimum Requirements

 

  • Combination of related professional experience

OR

  • Related professional designation or formal education

OR

  • Post-secondary degree
  •  5+ years’ experience in client relations OR strategic marketing OR financial OR trust services, OR other relevant experience

 

Purpose of the Position:

 

The Indigenous Trust Services Director is responsible for executing on the Bank’s Indigenous Trust Strategy by developing and managing profitable business relationships across Canada with strategic partners, lawyers, investment managers, Indigenous leaders, bands, and community and corporate organizations.

 

The Director provides leadership and manages strategic relationships and partnerships as they relate to Indigenous Trust Services. The Director provides leadership and assists in the strategic direction in the development, implementation, and evaluation of the mandate to grow our Indigenous Trust offerings.

 

This role is accountable for business generation, relationship development, profitability, and brand recognition to our Indigenous Trust offerings. This role also is responsible for liaising internally with the Bank’s administrative team of Trust professionals.

 

 

Key Outcomes & Responsibilities:

 

  • Develop sales strategy for the Trust division
  • Plays a key role in the relationship and sales strategy for Indigenous Trusts in the Trust Division, identifying, targeting and landing new client business and strengthening penetration with existing clients/partners
  • Responsible for driving revenue growth within the Trust business
  • Develops and manages relationships with partners and clients to optimize business referrals 
  • Develops a rapport to understand and be responsive to client needs
  • Assists others in the area by mentoring and providing a level of expertise to build stronger relationships, and generate business
  • Gathers client and market knowledge to identify potential new or enhanced solutions needed by clients
  • Leads client events to recognize strong relationships and builds engagement with new and existing clients
  • Willing to travel across Canada to build the Trust business
  • Lead Indigenous initiatives and activities for the Trust division
  • Prepares and delivers high quality presentations internally, with external partners and with Trust clients
  • Represents the Trust business at local, regional, and national industry events
  • Provides leadership and mentoring to support the development and growth of team members who also work on Indigenous Trust services within a constructive culture
  • Communicates organizational strategic direction and impacts to employees, clients and stakeholders
  • Advances change and ensures that resources are best deployed to meet the company’s objectives to grow Indigenous Trust Services

  • Advanced knowledge and ability to develop relationship-based strategies and marketplace positioning
  • Advanced sales, marketing and business development skills
  • Advanced knowledge of business planning/budgeting strategies
  • Advanced ability to build and maintain successful internal and external client relationships
